Question 02 · How independent can AI become?
Is there an AI that picks the right AI for me?
Short version
Yes, and you often do not notice. Many chat services automatically route your question to a fast model or to a more thorough one. AI agents also decide for themselves which tool to use for a given step.
Long version
Behind a chat window today, there is rarely just a single model. A router placed in front estimates how demanding a request is. A simple question goes to a small, cheap model, a complex analysis to a larger one that takes more time to compute. To you, it looks like a single AI.
Agents go a step further. They decide whether a task needs a web search, a spreadsheet calculation, or an image program. The choice follows rules and probabilities, not an understanding of your situation.
That is why, for important tasks, it is worth knowing yourself which tool is good at what. The machine makes a preliminary choice. Whether the result fits your goal is something you judge.
You can delegate the choice, but not the judgment.
